Cinema & Champagne Film Series
On June 28, 2022, Villa Sant’Andrea kicked off its cinematic season in collaboration with the Taormina Film Festival, celebrating its 68th edition. The exclusive evening welcomed international actors and directors, creating a glamorous atmosphere. Guests toasted with Moët & Chandon, the official partner of the event.
The renowned champagne also accompanied the following screenings on July 27 and August 23, held on the hotel’s private beach. The unique setting of Baia di Mazzarò made each night an unforgettable experience.
The festival opened with the premiere of “Tell It Like a Woman”, a collective film directed by female filmmakers. The work explores the theme of gender equality through seven short films set in India, Japan, the United States, and Italy.
The event took place simultaneously on Taormina Beach and at the Teatro Antico, offering guests an immersive and captivating experience. The scenic setting heightened the emotional impact, making the screening even more special.
Among the leading stars, Eva Longoria played the protagonist in “Lagonegro”, directed by Lucia Puenzo and filmed in Italy. The story follows a North American woman who arrives in a small village to manage an unexpected inheritance. The film delves into personal transformation and self-discovery in a place rich with traditions.
After the premiere, Villa Sant’Andrea’s private beach was transformed into an open-air cinema. Guests enjoyed special screenings of “To Rome With Love” on July 27 and “Under the Tuscan Sun” on August 23.
To enhance the experience, guests were treated to gourmet canapés inspired by Sicilian flavors. The creations of Chef Agostino D’Angelo were paired with Champagne Moët Impérial, offering the perfect balance of cinema, gastronomy, and luxury.
Finally, Moët & Chandon, a long-standing symbol of elegance, added an exclusive touch to each evening. The magic of the big screen, combined with the enchanting atmosphere of Baia di Mazzarò, transformed Villa Sant’Andrea into the ultimate destination for a summer of cinema and sophistication.
