Iconic Women Art Exhibition
Ten pop icons, ten stories, and ten female voices bring life to luminous installations. At the heart of the project are the “Iconic Women” by Sicilian artist Domenico Pellegrino, who playfully challenges the concept of bodies without heads through his art.
The project showcases the faces of eight legendary women: Raffaella Carrà, Frida Kahlo, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Moira Orfei, Queen Elizabeth, Barbie, and Carla Fracci. These iconic figures have been transformed into wood and LED light installations, accompanied by the narratives of Eleonora Lombardo—Ètuttapparenza—and performed by ten Sicilian women from the entertainment industry, each offering a personal interpretation of the figures represented, enriching the artist’s storytelling.
The voices behind the project include Stefania Auci, Giusina Battaglia, Stefania Blandeburgo, Emma Dante, Marianna Di Martino, Donatella Finocchiaro, Eleonora Lombardo, Stefania Petyx, Barbara Tabita, with a special contribution from Anna Sofia Pellegrino and the children of Teatro Ditirammu.
The audio tracks and digital content are accessible through Augmented Reality, weaving together vision and storytelling, with Sicily as the ever-present soul in Pellegrino’s work. Following its debut in Milan, the exhibition continued its journey to Favignana during the summer and will be showcased in Palermo until May 2025.
